We've detailed these plans to include all inclusive instructions in each set of log splitter plans to make them easy to follow!

Typically the PTO system will include a powered output shaft from a tractor that is designed to connect the PTO shaft to an implement. This is similar to a drive shaft on a vehicle that powers the wheels. This system can be easily connected to an input shaft of the application, log splitter. This then can supply the power to the attached equipment.

Fabrication options allow "wedge into log" or " log into wedge" design

Two options are presented in our plans to get you set up right based on your equipment requirements. Detailed instructions for both PTO and 3-Point tractor and skid steer attachment systems are included

3pt Hitch Tractor Driven
Hydraulic Wood Splitter Plans

The three-point hitch system is the most popular and widely used hitch system for attaching accessories to tractors, skid steers, and other machinery. The name comes from the three attachment points on the hitch system that resembles a triangle similar to the letter A.

With a three-point hitch, the three-point attachment system is a quick and simple way to securely connect a log splitter and other implements to a tractor, skid-steer, or other machine. The sturdy 3-point linkage system is attached to the tractor which carries the weight of the log  splitter. This 3-point hitch system offers a simple hookup using a universal utility that has become the industry standard for attaching add-on equipment to tractors and other machinery.

The 3pt tractor hydraulic log splitter was designed to run off of the hydraulic system from the machine you are attaching it to. Typically the machine or tractor supplies power through its own hydraulic system which includes quick couplings for detachable hoses. With the use of these couplings, hydraulic accessories like the wood splitters hydraulic system are attached.

Once attached to the hydraulic power supply, the hydraulic system of the log splitter is then controlled by the log splitter operator with the hydraulic pressure supplied by the tractor.

PTO Driven Hydraulic Wood Splitter Plans

Included in these plans are instructions for building the 3pt PTO driven log splitter option. This design is powered by a power take-off or power takeoff (PTO) which may include any of several methods that can be used to receive power from a power source, such as a tractor or skid steer's running engine. The PTO power supply is used to power any attachment or implement you may desire to operate such as a log splitter.
